A group of Boran stud farmers, from the North West Province, have taken the initiative, in collaboration with the Boran Cattle Breeders’ Society, to donate 10 Boran bulls to the developing farmers of the North-West Province.  The identification of the beneficiaries of these bulls was done in collaboration with the Chief Director of the Department of Agriculture North-West, Me Pule and Mr. Rego Malao, a registered Boran stud breeder. Mr Malao recently received the annual Unistel / SA Studbook award for the best developing stud breeder of all breeds in 2019.

The Boran society has further undertaken to assist these beneficiaries with relevant and practical information regarding successful stud breeding practices using Boran cattle.  Farming with these amazing animals will give these beneficiaries the opportunity of improving their cattle farming enterprises and becoming highly skilled, self-sustainable and successful cattle farmers.

This initiative will hopefully inspire, encourage and motivate all involved to consider using Boran cattle across all beef farming environments throughout the entire country in the future.
